High School Girls Flag Football and Middle School Bell Schedule Changes among topics at upcoming April 7 Oswego CUSD 308 School Board Meeting

The Oswego CUSD 308 Board of Educaiton will meet on Monday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Oswego East High School.

Girls flag football at the high schools will be discussed to see if it should be added as an IHSA sport for the 2025-2026 school year at Oswego and Oswego East High Schools. Both OHS and OEHS added club teams last year that participated against other area schools with 48 students participating at OHS and 81 students participating at OEHS. If approved, girls flag football would be added as a fall sports offering.

Bell structure changes to the junior high schools will also be discussed. Some changes would include the increase of passing periods from three minutes to four minutes and a decrease in morning student support time from 22 minutes to 19 minutes. Classroom time (328 minutes) and lunch time (41 minutes) would remain the same. Needs for changes by students include convenience, organization, preparedness, time management, and access to personal items.
