DeKalb Man Charged with Armed Robbery and Armed Violence in Oswego
Oswego Police arrested Timothy J. Rodgers, of DeKalb, with armed robbery and armed violence early Saturday morning after a report of shots fired near the 200 block of Concord Drive South in Oswego.
According to a police investigation after a crash in Aurora, the victim reported being robbed at gunpoint in Oswego by individuals in the other vehicle.
The alleged armed robbery and armed violence took place at 3:24 a.m.
“The victim reported he was sitting in his car outside his home,” said a police press release on Saturday night, “when he was approached by the suspect who displayed a firearm and robbed him. The victim then retrieved a firearm from his residence and chased after the suspect.”
Police said that the victim reported that the suspect pointed a gun at him, and the victim fired multiple shots at the suspect before the suspect fled in their vehicle.
“The victim returned to his vehicle and followed the suspect vehicle northbound on Orchard Road until both vehicles crashed near Orchard Road and Highway I-88. Two individuals fled from the suspect vehicle. One was located by Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies and turned over to the Oswego Police Department. The second individual has not yet been located.”
Rodgers was transported toKendall County jail to await a pre-trial hearing on Monday, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
