“We’ve recently received multiple complaints about unsafe or improper use of e-bikes and e-scooters in Oswego,” said police in a Facebook post. “Please review the infographic and visit our website for additional FAQs, safety information, and local operating rules.”
The post includes an infographic that defines an E-Bike and an E-Scooter, and where they are allowed.
Police remind residents that there is no riding on sidewalks, and Class 3 e-bikes are not allowed on village trails and paths. In addition, e-bike riders must be at least 16 years old, and e-scooter riders must be 18-years old.
Penalties range from $75 to $150, with a maximum fine of $750.
